15-18 May 2018 • International Exhibition Centre, Kyiv, Ukraine

Aqua-Therm Kyiv post release

Aqua-Therm Kyiv 2017 exhibition, held in Kyiv from May 30 to June 2, once again demonstrated its unquestionable leadership in the field of energy efficient heating, water supply, ventilation and air conditioning. The distinction of this year’s edition was a rich and demanded exposition as well as business program. A lot of interest was given to complex integrated solutions based on various energy sources.

The 19th edition of Aqua-Therm Kyiv exhibition took place in its traditional venue, in the International Exhibition Center, although a little later than usual, because of the Eurovision song contest. Despite the shift in dates, the number of participants and visitors increased. In total, according to the results, exhibition was attended by 24.3 thousand professionals. The exposition was represented by 536 companies from 21 countries of the world. In particular, those were companies from Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Italy, Iran, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, USA, South Korea, Turkey, France, the Czech Republic, etc. Traditionally, German manufacturers participated in group as a Country Pavilion.
For the first time in many years, official opening ceremony took place. It was on the first day of the exhibition and was attended by Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Lev Partskhaladze as well as heads of industry associations and public organizations.

"One of the important issues, which don’t receive enough attention, is the cost of utilities. This is directly related to the energy efficiency of buildings. We believe that in the future objects will be 25-30% more efficient ", - said Mr. Partkhaladze. He also noted that volume of construction is growing: both in numbers of commissioned facilities and the size of investments in the industry that grew by 18% this year. Hence, there is hope for the development of engineering systems market.

Business program

During the opening ceremony Elena Kononenko, director of Aqua-Term Kyiv exhibition, reported increase in themes variety of the business program and a more pronounced division of events upon industry directions. In particular, this year the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine joined the organization of the business program. Under the auspices of the CBU, presentations of various projects were held at open demo zones, during which everybody could address their questions to developers. It was interesting not only for specialists, but also for exhibitors.

In addition, "Club of Mayors" meeting was held, in which about 80 heads of local administrations of Ukrainian cities took part. They discussed problems of worn-out heat networks and boiler equipment of thermal utility companies. "According to our calculations, we need 100 billion Euros to fix the state of Ukrainian municipal economy (it's not about development but about stabilization)," stated Vladimir Udovichenko, president of the NGO "Club of Mayors".

More than 200 managers of municipal water and sewer utilities discussed current problems of the industry in a separate hall, within the framework of AquaPro business program. Under the auspices of Ukrvodokanalecology association, representatives of water utilities, together with scientists, specialists of ministries and departments, equipment manufacturers, discussed a wide range of issues. Such as regulatory support of the industry, reconstruction and design of water purification systems, control of its quality, etc.

Also, Conference of operators of public swimming pools was held within the framework of Pool salon. This event brought together people from various professions related to the operation of swimming pools, water parks and other water recreation facilities. Leading domestic and foreign (American, German, Austrian and Swiss) industry experts shared their experience in water treatment, construction and maintenance. There was a special lottery of valuable prizes - photometers and a certificate for free training, for the most active listeners of lectures and visitors of exhibition stands.

In addition, such major traditional events as Conference of the Ukrainian National Association of Heat Pumps and as Symposium of German manufacturers, which this year was called the German Day of Energy Efficiency, were held. Some of the most discussed topics during the conferences were issues of increasing energy efficiency, using renewable natural resources and attracting investments to these areas.

This year in order to establish a relationship between consumers and suppliers of products and services, organizers introduced new service "Industrial Navigator". Thanks to it, with the mediation of exhibition organizers, it was possible to appoint a meeting and hold negotiations on a separate site. The service was used by more than 200 chief engineers of large industrial enterprises. Such good results are the basis for further improvement and its continuation in the next year.

Practice makes perfect

Aqua-Therm Kyiv 2017 was noted not only for a busy business program, but also for practical events. For example within the framework of the forum the final competition of All-Ukrainian "Assembler of sanitary-engineering systems and equipment" was held. It was attended by students and the first graduates of vocational schools from 6 cities of our country, in which thanks to the Ukrainian-Swiss project, modern training and practical centers have been created. The final task of the competition was the installation of a suspended toilet system for a limited period of time. Winners received diplomas and an opportunity to pass an internship in one of the leading companies in the industry.
In addition, competitions and seminars were held for installers directly at the exhibition stands.

Special program of transfer buses was active for the convenience of exhibition’s visitors from the regions of Ukraine. This year it covered 20 cities: Berdyansk, Vinnitsa, Dnipro, Zhitomir, Zaporizhzya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kamenets-Podolsk, Kirovograd, Lviv, Lutsk, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Khmelnitsky, Cherkassy, Chernovtsy, Kharkiv, Kherson. For visitors who have chosen this service, familiarization tours, as well as handouts with novelties and beneficial offers for cooperation, were provided.

Traditionally, the exhibition represented a variety of products - from fittings to boilers and automation. This year it was difficult to note some clear leadership in presented types of equipment. For example, several years ago, the dominance of solid fuel boilers was observed, which was associated with a sharp rise in price of gas. Then at last year’s edition of the exhibition - heat generators at various energy sources were presented approximately in equal proportions. In addition, many major market players demonstrated complex solutions based on the symbiosis of various equipment, including renewable energy sources. Of particular interest in this regard were solar panels for the production of electricity.
The exhibition program was on during all 4 days of work. Now when this edition of the fair came to an end, the organizers are already thinking about new ideas and projects in the framework of the next event, which promises to become no less grandiose. After all, it will be the jubilee, the 20th exhibition of Aqua-Therm Kyiv. It is noteworthy that already now over 90% of the exhibition area has been reserved for it.

We are waiting for all of you in 2018, in the period from May 15 to May 18, in the International Exhibition Center in Kiev!
