International Water Day

International Water Day is celebrated around the world on March 22, which is a unique opportunity to remind humanity of the utmost importance of water for the environment and for society розвитку.

Water is the basic building block of life. Not only is water necessary to quench thirst or protect health, it is vital for creating jobs and supporting economic, social and human development.

It is important to think that over 3.6 billion people worldwide, accounting for about half of the world's population, live in water scarce areas for at least one month a year. In 2050, that figure could rise to more than 5 billion.

Modern global use of fresh water is approaching the maximum sustainability threshold, and this fragile balance really only masks serious local and regional disparities.

So no wonder Benjamin Franklin once said, "We only know the value of water when the well runs dry."
